An all-new Jaguar XJ will make its public debut in July 2009.
Speaking at Auto Shanghai 2009, Jaguar Cars Managing Director, Mike O'Driscoll confirmed that:
  • The all-new Jaguar XJ will go on sale at the end of 2009 - but will officially be revealed on July 9th in London.
  • The all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ is the first car to feature the next-generation of Jaguar's aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture.
  • All of Jaguar's new ultra-efficient Gen III petrol and diesel engines will be available in the new XJ, including the already acclaimed V6 diesel and 510 bhp supercharged V8.
  • There will be a choice of standard- or long wheelbase models.
  • The all-new XJ will introduce the highest standards of personal luxury and specification, including a panoramic glass roof.
Full details of the all-new Jaguar XJ including prices will be revealed on July 9th, 2009 and orders for delivery in early 2010 will be taken from this time. Pics from Car Pictures

some credited sources are saying it will be 2011 until delivery actually starts to happen, Jaguar is just using hype to get attention.

factually speaking Jaguar has been talking about showing a new not updated XJ for years and its still not been seen!

As a new member to Jaguar ownership, yet a longtime fan, I wish they would leave the Xj alone. More motor options, (diesel hybrid avail. in the U.S.) would be nice. Just give us something with a long lean front end and some traditional styling.

I was just looking at the Tata motors website, if you watch the flow of cars at the top of the screen the last two that flash by are a LR and a Jag.. the Jag looks alot like the 2010 XJ8 above.. http://www.tatamotors.com

That's just the C-XF concept.

I couldn't have said it better myself. TRADITIONAL STYLING. If Jaguar redoes the Xj to look like this, no Jaguar for me. That still leaves me the Cadillac DTS. Well, Ok, now I hear they might discontinue that. What am I left with now? Lincoln Town Car? Would not be my first choice.

I found this latest version of the 2010 XJ. Assuming I did the attachment right, you can see the picture. At any rate, it looks too busy for my taste as I was looking for a stretched out XF.

way too long at the rear. lets hope the real one looks more proportionate. But I'm wondering how a coupe profile will look on a 200-205+ inch car...

Here's the latest version of the new XJ. Still looks a lot like the XF but has better proportions.

I recently was visiting a Jaguar Dealer and test drove an XF . He said that Jaguar will be adapting a new desing layout which means the new upcoming models to be like XF in a sense . At least I find it better over X350 or any kind of Series I-II-III .

I find most cars look better in person than in pictures. These profile pics of the new XJ are taken at an extremely low height...almost equal to the height of the door handles. When you see a car "in the flesh" you are looking at it from a downward angle from your eye height. Really changes the the perception of proportions.

I think Jag has to do something dramatic. It certainly won't appeal to purists, but then again the purists surely weren't buying the damn things!

Here's a picture from a Japanese web site. This looks more realistic than some of the photo shopped pictures floating around. I'll take one in Black with the 510hp motor to replace my aging M5.

I drove the Supercharged XF on a track and around country roads and loved it, but it's a tad too small for the way I use a car. So I'm looking forward to this XJ. I think I read that the XJ will be lighter than the XF due to the aluminum body. It will be interesting to see what rear axle ratio Jag puts in the SV8 XJ. Could it be even faster than the XFR?

Here's another picture from a Jaguar dealer's website.

Judging by the huge wheels and large air intakes in the front fascia, this might be the SV8 or even an XJR?

Im sad that the xj, and the traditional look is going, when u saw it, or even caought a glimpse of it, you knew it was a jag and u watched it, i have a x type and its still gets glared and stared at were ever i go. It sucks the hood ornaments gone too, even if i wasn't aerodynamic. Hopefuly their might be a present xjs around when i finish school.

After just spending the better part of a week in an XJR It reinforces my decision that the looks are amazing as is the current car in general. If the new XJ looks anything like a jumbo XF I probably wont be buying one.

agreed, its too bad alot of automakers are "restructuring" and jag just had to change over. O well, i hope aston martin dosen't do this, or bently. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, too bad jag dosen't follow this anymore for the xj

Here it is!

Not too bad. I think I will see a bunch of these rolling around Manhattan. I know I know, Jag fans like us tend to decry anything that doesn't look like a class Lyons-era Jag. But let's face it -- Jaguars were hardly selling very well. They had to change their aesthetics big time. Looks decent to me.
