I have an 2012 Jaguar xf portfolio, I took the factory sub out of my 2010 and put it in the 2012, same connections but the sub don't come on. but; i notice their is no subwoofer control in the factory radio settings. do i have to change out the radio are what.

 

You are my second post. I am not a jaguar engineer but I've worked electronics all my life. The stereo probably has an operating program and if the car did not come with a sub then it won't be programmed for the sub. My little HHR did not come with a rear view mirror with compass and reading lights. The auto dimming and compass are inside the mirror but the reading lights are controlled by the body computer. When I changed out the mirror the auto dimming and compass work fine but not the reading lights. The wiring is there but the computer is not programmed to use it. I have seen a place online that reworks the center display for other cars, perhaps you can find a place that will reprogram yours. With other cars the radio is programmed for each car specifically which makes moving them around very difficult so simply changing it with your other radio may not be so easy. But like I said, I'm not a Jaguar expert, I could be completely wrong. I'm still waiting on my 2012 xjl supercharged to be delivered. Honestly I've only sat in one Jaguar, my friend Reggie's 1998 xjl. That was back about 15 years ago the last time I saw it. Hope this helps.
