Default 2013 XJL AWD - New Car - dealer willing to change windshield to Non Heated

Just to let everyone out there that my dealer who I have a deposit on a 2013 XJL AWD is willing to replace the new heated windshield to a non heated unit as part of the deal to get me to buy the car.
I know being a new car this won't work for everyone who has a used car already with little chips and stuff but worth it to ask if the lines are bothering you especially at night like it did me and my wife and daughter last night on our test demo 24 hr drive.
I have lens implants, Cindy had lazer, Andrea has 27 year old young non fixed eyes with no glasses. For all 3 of us it was horrible with all lights glaring and I was blinded more than once buy on coming cars.
Just an FYI
Thanks
Trev

Kudos to the dealer I say Trev, nice one.

Its such a shame that you guys are all affected by the heating wires in the screen, as personally I think its a great feature and was warmly welcomed over here in the UK when introduced in the Ford Mondeos

Shame it has effected you like this but great the dealer will help.
Personally I would not have a car without a heated screen. I have both cars with heated screens and even my work van has one as well.
I have had them for over ten years now and do wear glasses for driving. I think when I first had one it took me a few days to get used to as I found I was focussing on the wires and not one the road ahead. Enjoy the new car !

Thanks guys, I understand the focusing thing but,
the blurring and smearing of lights and little rainbows of colours through the windshields, well, thats another thing, and this is where my problem lies.
Thanks
Trev

I have the heated windscreen in mine and don't seem to be as bothered by the "wires" in the glass. One thing to note - Most windshields have a very minor amount of tinting int he glass (5-10%) that is nearly imperceptible. The jag has 0% tint... which will obviously let the light in more. Maybe it is more of a shading issue than glaring issue?

Just a thought...

I bought a 2013 Range Rover Sport Limited Supercharged instead.
The heated glass in this vehicle doesn't bother me at all and I am sitting higher and this thing flys in AWD mode with 510 hp.
I know the Jag AWD had enough power with the 8 speed transmission but now I have sitting high like in the Pope Mobile.....lol.
Thanks for everyones help.
Cindy and I are now assuming the glass in the one Jag might be Defective and thats why its still on the lot after 9 months.
Anyways, you guys take Care!
