Default 2014 XJ-R Tips

I am posting here few tricks I have found to work on my car. Some of them I learned from other forum post, it is repeated here to confirm it works with the 2014 XJ-R

1) Press&Hold "VALET" button for about 40s to see a screen with service information

2) Press&hold button on direction stick and than press&hold the engine start button (without foot on break). Release them 5-15 sec later to see the panel display engineering data

The GPS was driving me nuts because it was refusing to take freeways. It would even recommend the driver to exit the freeway despite good traffic on the freeway. I sent the car to the dealer, but despite reseting my GPS to factory default, they we not of any help. I believe to have found a service configuration error that once changed it fixed the issue.

Using the TIP #1, get into the service screen. Look for "HMI...", click on it and change English UK to English US. That should do the trick.

This is a training manual that covers the electric system. Enjoy it.
