Parking Brake - Idea ?
I have a Range Rover Evoque, 2014 and a Jaguar XJR 2014. Many of the components of the software appear to be the same.
The parking brake of both cars is electric and actuated by a button that look similar. In both cars, if the user moves the transmission from P to D the brake is turned off automatically. I am spoiled and love the idea of forgetting about the parking brake.
The Evoque is even better, when turning the transmission to P and turning off the car the parking break is AUMTOMACIALLY applied. This is not the case for the XJ, which requires the user to turn on the parking brake. I am suspecting that this diffierent behavior is configurable (by service screen?) and I would love the approach used in the Evoque to be the same in the XJ.
Does anyone know of a way to chage the XJ behavior to auto apply the parking brake?

Are you sure it does not apply the parking brake automatically?
Even my old 2005 STR does this. When you turn the car off watch the dash board. On my car the parking brake light goes on when I put the car in park and turn off the key.
