Hi everybody, can the two engines be interchanged? I know there is a difference but with some engines you can just change the oil pan and oil pickup which are minor changes. My engine is blown and I have found a jag reman cheap but it is AWD. let me know if you have any information around the differences. Thanks

 

don't know the answer (would guess same engine) but how did the engine get blown, what year and mileage, and how cheap is cheap- what would labor be

I woulda imagined an XJ at the age/mileage an engine should go out would have a value that couldn't justify replacing an engine

 

2013 Blown head gasket 75k miles. Cracked block. The engine I am looking at is a jag reman from JAG USA. $8k. Bought The project for $4k
but this replacement engine is for AWD so I was hoping that I could swap pans etc.


there are other used engines out there but not at this price for zero miles😏

 

8K would be approaching half the car's value? before any labor which I imagine is not small

 

I am doing the work. These cars in Seattle have a pretty good resale.
