I have an xf and I have for 4 sets into the trunk with not too much wrestling.

I would imagine an xj should be bigger?

 

Go visit the dealer with your friends and their and your golfclubs !

 

Nearest dealer 1 hr away. xf has 17.7 cu ft. xj has 15 cu ft . I might be in trouble ! Thanks for replys.

 

It's not just cubic feet, but how they are apportioned. The XJL has a deep, wide trunk, but not as high a load space as some. If I were you I would still get the XJL, and if four sets of clubs don't fit let one of the three others golfers drive their vehicle. Or you could install a trailer hitch and tow the extra gulf bag(s).

I have the 2013 XJL and I have no issues with 2 sets of clubs. However 4 sets I do not "think" would work. I know you did not mention baggage but we have to place our luggage in the back seat for out of town golf trips. sorry.

 

I would not let the golf club issue keep me from getting an XJL. Just imagine what it will be like when you're not golfing, and are driving an XJL. All of the compliments you will get, how great you will feel driving the car listening to the nice music surrounding you; and guess what, no one is going to ask you if it will handle four sets of golf clubs in the boot. They will all be saying, under their breath, boy, he's a lucky guy for driving such a beautiful AUTOMOBILE...

 

4 sets of normal golf clubs will not fit in the trunk. The trunk is not a perfect square as it is wider at the opening and narrows as you reach the back seat. I have to take my cleaning supply box out just to put one set of clubs in.

 

I've put 3 regular sets in the boot. 4 won't fit unless the 4th is a small junior set.
