Default Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Avoidance

Recently purchased a 2012 XJL Supersport with every option, except Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Avoidance Breaking. Question: Is it possible to add these options, and if so, any idea the cost?

Yes it is possible, but not through official channels.

There are two different AAC systems fitted to the X351 - the early ones had a split sensor and ECU similar to the X350 variant, and from around 2012 they switched to using an all-in-one sensor/module.

You need the aio sensor, or the individual sensor and module depending on your VIN. You'll need to replace the ABS hydraulic modulator with one that supports the brake pre-charging, you need a new steering wheel switch pack, and you'll need to change the CCF flashed to your car to enable the option.

The later cars will not need any wiring changes as the connector for the sensor is there on all models. The earlier cars with the split system will need the wiring added for the internal module (which is easy to do - all the wires are available from a single connector at the bottom or the right A pillar. It is a labour-intensive install because switching the ABS module requires dismantling a bit of the car and bleeding the entire system afterwards. You will need access to SDD so you can bleed the internal ABS circuits.

Cost varies depending on the cost of the sensor and module if needed. Expect to pay £2.5k for new, and £1k for used. Be aware there are *a lot* of used sensors on eBay and very few will have the correct software for your car so you need to find a good donor. Labour is about 12h if you know what you're doing.

Thanks. Based on responses, I now only want the Collision Mitigation System. Can you please speak to that?

Please disregard. Learned that the collision and early warning features are apart of ACC functions.
