Default AJ-V8 Gen III 5.0 SC v. NA - How compatible?

Besides the super charger and it's associate components, obviously, how similar are the naturally aspirated and supercharged versions of this engine? While I cannot find any definitive information, I feel like they are the same core but by and large the biggest/obv difference are the supercharger and the cam profile switching and variable track length inlet manifold.

The reason I am asking is because I recently bought a 2011 XJL SC model that is a little bit of a project. Mainly some exterior and chassis/suspension issues. Considering the used price of even a single component (the rear bumper cover), I can get another totalled Jag from auction to use as a donor car and come out way ahead on the used parts. I found a 2012 XJL same exterior color, but with the NA motor and I think I may be able to snag it for a ridiculous price and it is close enough for me to go pick it up myself. While I do not have a need for anything in the motor that i know of right now, I would like to think that it would be useful in many regards should the need arise in the future. I understand that anything SC related would be unavailable on this one, but these NA ones go for way cheaper than the SC ones, even salvaged. Of course, if the price is right, I'd still get it and just part out the motor myself since the rest of the vehicle matches up but would be cool to know. Thanks!

Mike, there are a lot of wiring differences between the two motors and as a result, you have different ECU's. So, you would have to do a motor swap, motor wiring harness swap, then get into the ECU and reprogram various modules to let the car know that you have an NA motor in the car vice a supercharged. You would need to swap the whole long block to really do this without a lot of cobbling things together. There are a ton of small things like coolant lines and whatnot that are different and trying to make it all work would be a pain. So, ponder the long block swap with the harness or rebuild what you have.

I appreciate the response and all good information. I think I may have been unclear on what I was asking specifically and that is my fault. I couldn't possibly imagine ever doing a motor swap from SC to NA..never ever However, if a water pump failed, or some air sensor, etc. to be super vague, are some of those items interchangeable and if so, is it barely any, a large portion or somewhere in between?. On that note, I am still going to be searching for a model with the same vintage/generation (I think the range may be 2010-2013 (maybe 2012, unsure)..though I could be wrong on that as well), same color exterior and interior, and the SC variety; however, that is really narrowing down the field when considering it also has to be at a salvage auction that is not too far aware and wrecked or totaled in a very specific way. That is a lot of variables that'd have to line up, so I am trying to understand what options I really do have. I did find one since I made this post that seems to have met a very violent end at a utility pole that can only ever be used for parts that is a decent candidate as well. Anyway, I am glad you responded the way you did as it offered me an opportunity to clarify. Thanks again!

tergitkerd, if you are looking at simply the number of parts that are shared between the two motors, you are probably looking at 50%, potentially a little more. water pump, the same. The hoses for the water pump, most are different. So, you get the idea.

Yeah, that's basically what I was after. That's not terrible if I can match everything else. I mean I have no problem parting it out (what I can't use) but trying to be as educated as I can when shopping for my parts donor. Thanks for the input!
