Hi, I have a 2012 xjl with bowers and wilkins sound system. I noticed that the subwoofers on the rear deck are not working or working 10%. I read on the forum that this is probably bad amplifier problem. Can someone tell me what amplifier code/part number I should be looking for to replace mine? I'm thinking I shouldn't be looking for the same one cause I don't want to have same problem again. Or did anyone try to fix amplifer itself? Amp that's in car now
Veon, you want to look up the BJ32-19C164-BF. Of interest is the 19C164 number. That is the part number of the amp. The BF is a version number. You can try getting a bit of a newer number, but the farther you get away, the more likely you are to have issues. The BJ32 is just a reference to what car this was originally designated to go in.
Hey Thermo, thanks for quick answer. I already have BJ32-19C164-BF original amp in the car, as you can see on the photo, maybe I understood it wrong but isn't it better to get a newer model amp so I have less chances of having same problem again? And if so how do I know by part number which one is newer or which one will fit my sound sytem plug and play?
Veon, a newer version (ie, something with an ending higher than "BF" like BG or BH, etc) will be a newer unit. But, like I mentioned, you get too far ahead and you can potentially run into compatability issues. Where the line is, I am not sure. You should be good with any system that is still the B&W, you get into the other system and odds are you will have issues.
