Default Any way to turn on ignition without key fob

I lost my last key to my 2013 xjl trying to avoid going to the dealer and getting charge so much, so I asked around an a buddy of mine’s informed me he has a key programmer that you plug into the OBD port but you have to have a way to turn the ignition on and off to program it , is it anyway to do that? If not was informed would have to take the board out and program it like that

Your headed for a royal disaster!
Please stop and reconsider all the expensive damage you can cause using a non-factory setup. There is no board to take out it's a giant integrated system with dozens of individual modules and they ALL have to be happy and connected for your car to operate.

If you want to take the chance OK but I would recomend the proper SDD setup ESPECIALLY when trying to program keys or anything to do with the security system. Jaguar makes this hard and complicated for a reason.

Again people DO NOT operate your Jaguar with ONLY one key!!! I just can't emphasize this enough. So many are just waiting for a multi-thousand dollar repair because of this.

thanks for the advice I’ll just take it to Jaguar they quoted me $1300+ to reprogram 2 keys cause that’s the minimum required

Yes unfortunately it's expensive at the dealer but at least if something goes wrong it's on them!
I hate to stop you from trying but we have seen some real costly DIY problems with keys and/or the security system.

jayflymid, can you do this? Sure. IN short, you would end up taking a keyfob and hiding it in the steering column. This would allow you to have to do nothing but push the button on the dash and the car would go. But, this also makes it so the car cannot be locked either (car sees the key inside and will not allow you to lock the keys in the car). So, you are begging someone to steal your car. Not something that I can recommend someone doing. There is no "do this and you can turn on your accessories" mod that I am aware of. Could you add a switch and some relays and get power to what you want, sure. But, at what cost to the longevity of the car.
