Had I won our recent 1.5 billion $US "Power Ball" lottery, my first move would have been to buy a Bentley Mussulane, the only car, in my opinion, that outclasses the Jaguar XJL, mostly because of it's front end styling. Golly, what great styling!
I saw a Bentley Mulsanne in Boca Raton, FL yesterday and almost plowed into the back of a Tesla because I was staring so hard!
Nobody seems to have mentioned dealership numbers as a brake on sales. How many Jaguar dealers are there in relation to BMW/Mercedes/Audi/Lexus ?
Most people will be reluctant to buy an up-market car with a dealer 50-100 miles away. Of course there may be a lot more Land Rover dealers so the obvious move is for them to take on Jaguar unless there is another Jaguar dealer nearby. One thing is certain; if you want to sell lots of XEs and XFs you need the dealers in the right places. No dealers, no sales !!
I agree. It's a 90 minute drive from my house to the closest Jaguar dealership. It certainly gives you something to consider when shopping for a car. Having done it once before however, I decided to take the plunge again. I could go half that distance and purchase a Mercedes, BMW, or Audi. Nothing locally other than Cadillac or Lincoln. Nothing wrong with those and I've owned quite a few of both, but the Jaguar has a lot more panache.

I see that we drive similar Jaguars and I have a 2014 Mustang convertible. Where we part ways is with your Corvette - the last one I was in nearly killed my back! I live in a rural area where a truck, preferably 4x4, is a must so my third vehicle is a 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Edition 4x4. Just for curiosity sake, what colors are your XJL and Mustang? My XJL is Lunar Grey and the Mustang is silver. Truck is black and gold.

My XJL is Metallic Caviar and my Mustang Convertible is silver. My Crystal Red Metallic Corvette has the adjustable magnetic fluid suspension, so the ride is really quite good, but its ground clearance, especially with front and side ground effects, wouldn't be suitable for many rural roads.
I think the F-Pace is going to be the car to save Jaguar. I am thinking of buying one myself. Probably the best looking CUV out there, and for the price has incredible performance (I mean, 0-60 in 5.5 for a CUV starting at about $44k??)!
JD Powers 2015 reliability report does not include Jaguar since they do not have enough sales to report statistically valid numbers. However and unfortunately Land Rover is second from the worst at more than double the reported problems of (for example) Chevrolet. Yikes !
If this data includes Global Markets, than I would believe the Tesla data as accurate.
I am an exPAT living in Hong Kong and they are everywhere. I believe in 2015, there were over 4,000 sold just in HK and that number will grow even more in 2016.
I just saw a newspaper article that Elon Musk is in fact visiting Hong Kong. I believe he mentioned that he predicts HK as being a Global leader in Tesla sales going forwards.

HK is indeed a big Tesla market. I was there when the first-ever Tesla road rally was going on in November 2014 at the science park. The ironic part is that the Tesla was in no way green in Hong Kong. Most of the energy to power Tesla's in HK comes from the Lamma and Castle Peak coal fired power plants.
