Default Audio/Video Question (How to Rip)

Got my car back, for the third time since I bought it two weeks ago... they 'redid' the software update to fix the media issues... hopefully it works this time (seems to be so far).

Anyways. I have two questions:

1) How do you rip a CD/DVD to the hard drive? I read through the manual and either missed that section, or it wasn't in there. I have a handful of CD's that I don't feel like burning to my Itunes that I want to store on there

2) I realize it's early, but do they make the DVD-in-motion adapter yet? I have one on my Escalade and it affords my wife the ability to watch DVD's when we travel to/from one of our out of town stores

Actually three questions.

3) Is it just me that has to push inordinantly hard on the screen, or is it like that for every car. Again. My Esalade is very easy to use the screen, the Jag makes it difficult as hell to navigate while driving since you have to be precise as well as press hard.

To upload CD's, put a CD in the slot, go to the audio screen, then press "my music", then press "stored CD's", then press "upload". It will ask if you want to upload the CD into the next available slot number--answer "yes". You will see the upload progress as a percentage as it goes--takes about 15 minutes per CD. When all 10 slots are filled it will ask which slot you want to overwrite if you try to upload another CD.

Yes, it does seem that the touch screen takes a firm press to operate, but I don't find it too obtrusive.

Regarding the touch screen, I too find that a firm press is required. That said, by having the "Screen Animation" (lights the corner of what you are touching) and the "Button Feedback" (audible sound when you press) settings "On" helps somewhat.

Tried that.. it wont let me rip the CD.

Does it have to be a WMA CD and not an MP3 CD? In all the literature, it says, "you can store about 10 CD's of uncompressed audio". You would think that you could store MP3's and that it wouldn't force you to rip a CD as an WMA THEN burn it... that just doesn't make sense.

How about the 'my video' section of it? What is that even for/do? Can you play videos from an Ipod or from a USB device?

I wish there was a better way to figure this out than ask online. I'm young and like tech, but this thing is a PITA to get comfortable with.

it doesnt do MP3 CD. Just regular CD.
Try screen touch longer instead of firm. May be my imagination but seems to help

Well this is what I got back from the seller, not really that much on how it works, why it works, or what negatives to expect. But its more information than before.

What do you guys think?

I'm also very interested in this. Did anyone try this out yet or find a different one?

The system will only rip actual store bought music cd's or music burned on a cd as an acutual uncompressed cd. It will not rip DVD's nor any compressed burned cd's.

Ok but I was referring to the DVD in motion bypass so my wife can watch movies while driving.
