Default Auto light delay flashing on Display Problem

So sometimes when I am driving my 2016 XJR I see in the right-hand circle on the display the message Auto Light Delay 1:00 then flash to Auto light Delay :30 then back and forth like its shorting or something. It's been doing it randomly for some time and I guess I'll finally get around to fixing it if anyone has had this issue. It will do it for a minute or so then stop and then randomly will do it again later off and on. nothing really happens other than the message and im not touching anything or doing anything other than hands on the steering wheel. Left side stalk playing up, End of the stalk have rotate switch for these settings. (walk home lights)
I would try a drop of contact cleaner or WD40 etc thru seam wtith air pressure to get it inside for contact surfaces. Already turning it back and forth for awhile can help.

Both sides of yor steering wheel. Left side for blinkers/lights and right side for winshield wipers.

No, these can work more like insulators. What you need is clean contact surfaces.

Yes give that a try. But my experience is it it will work for a while. I have disassembled several and re-greased them. But in the end I ended up getting a new switch to finally solve it for good.

Do you think the Standard one is as good as OEM Jaguar?

Not long just be careful to avoid breaking plastic parts. You need to get the shroud off under the steering wheel so you can get to the switch.

I think so, also because it's an interior part that doesn't get much abuse. I wouldn't be surprised if they're not from the same manufacturer on things like this that are specific (but may be common t other vehicles).
The price difference between this and genuine JLR is probably several hundred dollars.
