Default Is this a bad coupler/isolator?

Just got a 2011 XJ that needed a very few minor things. It runs great, with the exception on a little shake at idle, only codes I have found is a po442 using the icarsoft LRiI.. wondering how hard the plugs are to change, because it has just hit a 100k. Also it has a loud startup clatter which I’m thinking is the coupler/isolator going to try and upload video to get your feedback

Shaky idle and loud clatter at startup at that mileage would have me inspecting the timing chain tensioner and guides as soon as possible. A failure there causes catastrophic engine damage.

Will definitely look into that, but I did notice that the clatter is gone when removing the supercharged belt. I had to remove in the evening when parked for the day, because it only happens for a few seconds when first starting the car for the day, doesn’t do it on every startup. How involved is the timing chain tensioner and guide? I’ve done it on a few vehicles, but have to admit never touched the 5.0 jag/rover motor. Touched plenty Mercedes 5.0’s though..

My days of engine repair are nearly over, just don't enjoy it like I used to, so I have all work done at the dealership. I shouldn't think it would be beyond your ability if you've done that kind of work on Mercedes. I'm quite familiar with a m113 as well.

As I understand it, the 5.0 engines are not as silky smooth as the old 4.2s were. Is it a vibration felt through the car or are the RPMs actually bouncing around?

You have the smaller 6mm timing chain setup. This has been replaced by Jaguar and upgraded to 8mm chains. Don't ignore the noises as I think you are hearing chain rattling along with a worn SC isolator.
The isolator won't cause any problems just noise BUT those darn timing chains are an engine disaster for sure!
