Default 2014 XJR Check Engine Light after each car wash

I have a 2014 XJR with the Hood vents. Every time I wash the car the check engine light comes on and it has a very rough idle. I think it is the water running through the vents and directly on the injectors. After a day the check engine light goes off and it runs great. Anyone experience this issue?

Hi Robcar01,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

I have moved your post from the forum for the X308 (sedans 1998-2003) to the forum for the X351, which is the Jaguar factory project code for your 2014 XJR. Here you will find knowledgeable owners of similar cars.

In the meantime, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome.

Cheers,

Don

Without reading the codes how do you know what's causing the problems?
I wash my 2014 XJR all the time and yes the hood vents are open and get water in them and I have never had a single problem.

Let us know what you find.

I will definately provide an update. I am awaiting the codes from JLR here is Dallas/Grapevine. They were not aware of a specific water issue however, they did note that the amount of water on the hood could be related to the issue. More to come once I recieive the codes and feedback from JLR.

I have dealt with Chris (sales) and Daniel (Svs) at JLR Grapevine and like them both. Their tech found misfire codes on the scan this morning. They have checked the coils and all are checking clear and operational. The tech is checking spark plugs now. More to come....
