Default Blacked Out Wheels?

Any thoughts on blacked out rims? Guess it's all personal tastes. I quite liked the Bentley Supersport on Top Gear the other day; white with blacked out rims.

I love blacked out wheels, but in my own opinion, for your car I would almost go with a charcoal color.

I think that color looks great, kind of a smokey color would accent your car nicely. Just my opinion though

Wow is that awful looking. Makes it look like a test car disguising what the finished product will actually look like. Wrong type of car to pimp out, IMHO.

That doesn't look goon on the jag I prefer polished chromes but I saw a DBS Carbon Edition with black wheels , those were cool

IMHO, the blacked out wheels are just a passing fancy. They don't really look all that good although you don't have to worry about brake dust. I prefer a clean, simple design that enhances the car and doesn't draw attention away from the car to the wheels. Generally, I prefer a five spoke design in billet or brushed aluminum.

It is a passing fad, but so was chrome during the good economic times of "BLING"
Now we are into the anti BLING times of a poor economy,this is nothing new it happened during the 70's,80's and 90's. I guess to some I am considered an "old dude" but I was part of those mentioned decades and followed the trends right up to today at considerable cost in wheels just to stay current.
The skirts get short and then long,the heels go high and then low all trends, but one good thing is if you like the current trend or not just wait awhile and your favorite will come back in style.

Black wheels are great for the autocross crowd..... Don't think the look belongs on a "stately" auto

Deffo NOT for your car IMHO
The cars way too classy for that.....deal with the brake dust, clean your wheels regularly!

On a side note....The XKR 5.0 Supercharged V8 with speed pack /black pack I was out in a few months ago had the blacked out rims ona red car....That looked amazing and mean....Personally I still preferred the blue convertible with the cream leather ineterior and the silver grey alloy wheels with SUPERCHARGED stamped into them....ALL DAY LONG for me

IMHO, it's the lack of color contrast between the body of the car, the tires and the rims that has resulted in a negative effect of making the entire package look bland. Probably looks better with a lighter body color and contrasting wheel nuts.

I think at the end of the day it comes down to what the rims look like on the car. Some blacked out rims look good and some are horrible.

I am currently getting my stock 20's / winter set gloss blacked so i will post some pictures soon as thats done.
