I've had this ongoing issue with the combination of the bluetooth (BT) and the voice control system (VCS) on my 2011 XJ L Supercharged. I dont know which system is the problem to start. Second, I have no reliable way of fixing it. The phone does pair automatically with the bluetooth system AND it does download my contact database so I suspect the its not the BT but instead the VCS.

- When I hit the VCS button it does start the system
- I say "Phone-Call-Contact"
- The system respond that no contacts are found
- The contract database is accessible from the screen however, I just cant be going through all the contacts while I'm driving.

The terrible work around has been to use VoiceTags on a limited set contacts.

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone but had the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

 

I have had the same problem once in a while, when i try the second time it will connect. Samsung galaxy 2

 

Try repairing and redownloading of your contacts. Mine works perfectly...Samsung galaxy s5.

 

Another observation...when initially starting the car, the car doesn't recognize the phonebook and gives me the same error, but after a few minutes in, the voice module will be able use it.
