changing battery

Default changing battery

AM i missing some thing ? , changing out the battery as was getting a few low battery warnings , so bought a new amg battery to replace the old 6 year one it was also an amg , disconected the old one got it out , put in new one hooked it up , nothing car wont start , i had checked the voltage before i put it in reading was 12.8 volts what am i doing wrong ?

Does it have enough CCA? AGM battery probably doesn't matter much in terms of chemistry to start, you just need the specifications to match.

Yes specs seem to match , iam at a loss unless it needs to be programmed in as its stop start

All fixed , in my haste had forgoton to re conect a black lead to battery a senior moment. blush

Even though you successfully installed your new AGM battery, odds are that it's not fully charged. Many batteries sit on retailers' shelves for month's slowly discharging.

Because I don't drive enough every day, I keep both of my Jags on CTEK battery maintainers to prevent electrical gremlins.

yes well aware but thanks had took a reading prior to install battery gave 12.8volts so all good , will be hooked up tomorrow to charger as installing new rear discs , and put car into service mode via isoft code reader to keep voltage up
