Changing the Thermostat
Hi there,
Does anyone have any advice on techniques for change the thermostat. The electrical and normal hose connections seem pretty straightforward, but I can't figure out how to separate the connection to the lower radiator hose. I've removed the securing clip, but the plastic connector still seems stuck fast and I'm nervous about breaking it!
Any advice or tips appreciated.
Thanks,
M

@XJSS That's a good point, thanks. What I meant was the thermostat housing, rather than the thermostat. The rubber hose connections have come apart with the normal method, but there is one plastic to plastic connection between the thermostat housing and a piece which contains a temp sensor and connects to the lower radiator hose. I'm having difficulty separating those two.
Does this help?

Thank for the pictures, that was helpful.
To separate the plastic lower radiator hose connector, just required a little bit of bravery and about three light taps with a hammer and a wrapped flat head screwdriver on the edge, that was enough to break it free that I couldn't do by just pulling. It slides straight up and down, no twisting, just for the record in case anyone needs this in the future.
Thanks again!
