So I got 2018 XJ 3.0, a few days ago I started getting the Charging System fault and I drove the car to the dealership where it died as it was running solely on the battery. But the problem currently found by the dealership is the corrosion on the Stud along with the Alternator Positive. I just wanted to know if someone else had this issue, if it was fixed by replacing the whole cable as recommended by Jaguar although they quoted a 12 hours of labor for this. Or potentially there are alternative fixes to this, just looking for recommendations as the whole job is $4200 plus if the alternator or battery need to be replaced as well.
Kinda surprised that they said salt was most likely the issue since there's not adequate cover underneath that area.
