My car x351 3.0 Diesel 275 CP has 125500 km. When I bought it in July 2024 it had 119000 km. On 01.05.2023 the previous owner changed the distribution, changed all the engine gaskets, front and back wheel alignment.
I only drove 6000 km since now (it is my second car so I drive it on the weekends usually on long roads)
In 2024 December I did a diagnose on it and it showed me P0336-29 "Crankshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance", I did nothing.
Since then I did not seen any other symptoms related to the crankshaft until lets say July-August 2025.
Symptoms like a shaking of the car but only when I put it in reverse, and very rare, like once or 2 a month, when the engine was cold.
The last time it did this at start, it only did it for a couple of seconds, max 30 seconds and after disappears, but this time every time i hit ~1200 RPM I felt it shaking. This kept on for like another 20 30 sec. ( I do not know if also he other dates it happened more intensely at 1200rpm, it was only when I noticed, but keep in min that it also happened when I did not rev my engine
In the last months I see that its happening more often and not only on reverse but still on a cold engine
On the SDD JLR it keeps showing me the DTC P0336-29 "Crankshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance".
Has anybody experienced problems like mine?
My plan is to change the sensor as per X351 - XJ Workshop Manual 2010 to 2012 TDV6 3.0 Liter Diesel VIN V00325 to V39426 even though my vin is ENV61497 I think the procedure is the same (if not please help me out with the 2014 Manual)
Thanks guys.
The AJD-V6 3.0l Diesel blocks are all same from 2010->
Sensor is reading signal from magnetic ring mounted on flange of flywheel mount.
This type of sensors are extremely reliable, so i would also check the cabling/connectors. Specially because you wrote that you got sympthons when you put gear in reverse -> engine nudges -> sounds wiring or connector.
