Default Clunking sound

I own a 2011 Jaguar XJL 3.0 diesel which has suddenly development a clunking down as if there is a nail in the tyres. So replaced all the tyres and while doing this found the back Shocks damaged so replaced that as well. To my surprise the sound hasn't gone. So we are back with the diagnosis. Checked the bearings. Seems the arms are old and maybe need replacing but cant say as yet. Anyone with suggestions?? hate for it to be the differential but it doesn't seem like a noise that would come from the differential. any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks. Its sound like a nail is stuck in the tires and it clunks everytime the wheels spin. Lower speeds are louder and more distinct but higher speeds are less. I have changed the tires. No effect. Changed the back shocks. No effect. Now looking at the Arms and bushings etc. Any help will be great. car is at the garage and the mechanics are fiddling around

I don't have the same vehicle, but if the sound is there constantly, but changes in pitch with speed, it more than likely is the wheel bearings. Not always easy to pick up on, even though you may try and shake the wheel side-to-side after being raised off the ground. Doable, but often do need to be pressed out and new ones pressed on (rear drive shaft). Quite a few indies will do this for a couple of bucks. Also, a good idea to replace both front or rear, at the same time. If the sound is there only when you go aver a slight bump, then it could be your anti-roll bar (sway bar) bushings. These are generally fairly easy to swap out.
