Coolant leak found; but having trouble fitting replacement part!!
Hello,
I recently had a coolant leak from the front of the engine near the throttle body. The piece which broke was a small plastic flange type piece which fit into a hole (near throttle body), which then that was connected to a short tube which was connected to the thermostat housing, eventually leading to the coolant overflow reservoir..
So I’ve purchased the necessary replacement part from the dealership, but now I am having difficulties fitting the plastic piece in the hole near throttle body. I will provide pics to help explain the situation. I don’t want to use to much force but that may be the only option at this point.
I thought the new style hose with the revised weep line only fitted the new Italy made pumps. But to answer your question that just pushes in. Do you have the old one to compare in size? Maybe a caliper to check.
Is this plastic piece (the black part seated in the brass part) that comes with the pump the part that the dealership gave/sold you?
I didn't know it was available by itself.
The nipple at the end of the hose in your pic doesn't fit in the pump without it.
