Coolant lines
I got my new throttle body yesterday and will be putting it on tomorrow. I was looking at it and wonder why it has 2 coolant lines running into it.
Why are coolant lines needed on a throttle body?

Prevents the butterfly in the throttle body from freezing. Also prevents ice from forming inside of the throttle body. Basically the same function coolant does for your engine. If you carefull take the clamps off for the coolant lines you can reuse them. You have to pinch them while getting it to clear the hook. Then when you go to put them back on its about 100 times easier then using a screw clamp. I dont have small hands and I busted my knuckles up doing a throttle body removal reinstall. I'll try and find a pic I had found of a similiar clamp as them so you can visualize what I'm saying.
This is a huge picture but this is very similiar to how those coolant clamps are. If you pinch it together you can squeeze an awl or similiar tool to get it to clear the hooks at number 13. Then when you go to reinstall you just have to pinch the clamps and they will lock onto the hooks again. You have to make sure you remove them carefully to you dont break the hooks otherwise you have to use screw clamps and if you have big hands that will not be fun to squeeze your hand in there to screw them tight. Hope that helps you out some.
Just noticed you have a regular 4.2 you may not have the needing small hands problem but I'm sure the clamps are the same as I see them on alot of various hoses so I'm sure they used them across the board. I wish I could of made a video showing how I got them off but I could barely get my hands in there to work let alone a video camera. I would buy a few screw clamps as a just in case measure in case you break or bend the hooks.
