reallyneedhelp, you do not specify what engine you have. So, I am going to take a stab at what you are after and this should hopefully get you on the right path. If you have the 5.0L petrol/gas engine, then I recommend you remove the cover off the top of the engine. Next, locate the throttlebody and find the coolant hose feeding the throttle body. Now, follow this back about 12 inches or so to a plastic coolant manifold.on the right hand side of the engine. Where the hose enters this manifold will be a bulge, the lower half of that bulge has the coolant temp sensor in it.

If you have the 3L diesel engine (only available outside of the US), then you need to look in the left hand front corner of the engine bay in the EGR cooler inlet pipe. You should see the sensor sticking up there.

at the bottom right
on a 5.0 and 3.0 petrol engine I hope that helps.

It's a bit of a pain to get too. Much easier if you remove the intake manifold first. Mine was throwing a fault but changing it didn't clear after I swapped it though.

Default Help. Info needed

Hey guys.
can someone help me with the precise location for the coolant temperature sensor ?
just need to take the connector off to see if the radiator fan starts.
because it’s summer and I don’t hear full blast radiator fan…… at all. Temp is constant at 90.

just suspicious that the fan it’s not working at top speed, only with clima on at about 20-30%. Speed.

so…. Taking the connector off the sensor should start the fan at full speed?
btw…. From diagnose program not original jlr…. The fan doesn’t respond to changes in rpm

so…. Location for temp sensor pleaseeeeeee

We do not get very many diesels over here, so I'm not sure how helpful I can be with it, but I will try. You can verify the fan runs by unplugging the sensor, you could also disconnect the PWM wiring at the fan itself which will force it to 100%.

If the car is not overheating and the a/c is cooling well, you may not need the fan to go faster. It's quite variable, and if the airflow at 30% is good, it will stay there. No reason to run it faster for no gain.

great stuff. Found it. Disconnected. Not a peep from the radiator fan. So…… 🤣 I now know for sure
