Default Driver head room in the xj

Hey guys, about to finish off a lease on the xf and thinking of making the switch to an xj or XJL.
I was just in the xj quickly today and seems like the headroom in the xj is a bit tighter than the xf?

I'm 6'1 and while my head is close in the xf, it seems to touch in the xj?
Might be because of the pano sunroof?
Or. Were the settings on the seat so jacked up?
Can anyone comment on this?

Lol.
You started the golf clubs thread!
You have an XJL.
For the record I too am surprised no one has tried to get 4 clubs in there.

Well, I'm 5' 6" and I found when I test drove the current XJ at a dealer test day, that I felt like I was almost buried deep down in the car, and could barely see out. The waist line is higher than my own X350 car, the previous model. So I tried raising the seat, and then found my head was touching the headlining. The new XJ is a wonderful car, but to me it is a bit too much style over function, for instance one bangs one's head when getting in the back seats due to the sweep down of the cantrail line.

I'm 6'4" and I've had no trouble at all in first, my 2012 XJL, and now in my 2014 XJL.

I do have to agree with you on the back and getting in and out.
It's even like this with the xf. I like the a7 but the roofline is really raked also.

Am I willing to put up with it? Yes... Lol.
Good to know 6'4 is a big frame. I should have no problems!

I spent some time at the DC Auto Show today sitting in the XJ's back seat. I was very surprised at how little headroom there is in the back. I am only 5'7" and even my head only had 1 or 2" of headroom remaining. My 6'0"-tall friend's head was touching the ceiling.

I am 5'95 and had no problem with the headroom or seeing out in the front, but seeing out while backing up was a real problem. I am a highly skilled parallel parker and it's impossible to do with today's high sloping waistline and tiny windows. I had to let the salesman do the backing up and parking and decided to hold on to my still large but more manageable X350.

The interior was really really nice immediately upon entry. I did not feel that 'special'-ness when I first entered the new XF or the XK.

Cheers,
Wolfy

I'm 6'3 and I have no problem with headroom once inside. And no issues in the back seat as well. My head doesn't touch the headliner either.

I'm not a tall guy, but must be clumsy as I enter the car. Frequently, I mange to bump the trunk (boot) opening button, with my knee as I slide in. I'll have to install a loud warning siren to let me know I'm driving down the highway with the trunk lid open.

Yeah, I know, I'll try to be more cautious.
