Default DRL in Corner left and right grills?

Hey everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone had the diagram for the Jaguar XJ (2011) corner grills on the front (below the washers)? I would like to wire in a DRL there and want to know how to access this region. (Not my vehicle pictured) I would also prefer to not remove the front bumper, if possible.

Also, for those that saw my CAN BUS post, I found a means to interface and will be posting again within the coming months with how to replicate what I have done as well as how to replace the XJ's brakes, and drop the transmission pan etc. I figured I'd make them since some of the information for the XJ has to be based off the XF and similar, so why not give the XJ a little love!

Regards,

Jordan

Jordan, without removing the bumper cover, the only way that you are going to access that area is to jack up the front end of the car and remove the front portion of the under plate. That is going to be about 16 fasteners (7 (?) along the front, 5 in the middle, and there are either 1 or 2 per side, just in front of the wheel. That will let you access that area from underneath. As for getting wires to that area, that is where removing the bumper cover is going to make things a ton easier.

I am getting close to installing my DRLs/fog lights on my car. I am doing a custom project and should be interesting once I am done. I may mock them up on the car this weekend as I am playing with it for the power steering leak. But, in short, I have wired 24 LEDs into the 2 black ovals around the chrome trim. If things go like I am hoping, the LEDs are not going to be visible when the car is parked unless you get up close and personal and they should add a lot of functionality to the car since they are going to double as both DRLs and as front fog lights. They should have the same sort of appearance as the lights under the headlights. So, that should play into the overall look of the car and give it hopefully a "factory" look.

Alright, thanks thermo! If you get the chance, post some pictures of the final product as it were. When I do my transmission oil change I will take a gander at the underside, as I will need to remove this front plate anyways. I have a dimmer circuit setup current that I know I will be using that simply dims them rather than shut them off when the primary lights come on. By the sounds, the 24 individual LEDs seems honestly amazing, and I wish I had thought of this. I may decide to do this on the bottom portion with the same circuit. I followed the other thread that was directed towards you just in case!

Thanks again!

Jordan
