Default DVD playing while driving.

Hello everyone. I recently purchased 2012 XJ and the first annoying thing we noticed was the DVD will not play while driving. Well that make it really useless. We travel quite a bit and this will be needed. Is there another system I need to purchase to make this work?

The one in my 2011 XJL works fine while being driven.

Probably not legal in most, or all, states. Too distracting. My 2016 F-Type will play audio and video while in park, but only plays the audio when not in park.

Just weird my 2005 Mercedes plays with split screen where the passenger can see the video.

I believe that there is a "video in motion" module that can be purchased and installed to override and allow the video to play while moving. I believe the cost is several hundred dollars I have not done this myself, but have seen this modification on several threads for the XJ/XJL. Here is one of the ones I remember:

Good luck.

Jaguar offers a dual view option that does allow a passenger to view DVDs in motion and the driver can only see the standard displays, But as with severely restricting models and customization it is not offered in the USA. Another enlightened marketing decision of JLR North America.
