Default Engine Swap into a XJ-XF-XE

Has there been any interest or has anyone actually done a sucessful engine swap into a 350-351? I was think with all the issues these cars have swaping something like a Big Nisan into a Jag might go a really long way in a Jag's life expendency! Prob a lot of issues with control mechanisms, electronics for sure but the upside might be a proven power train that isn't an arm and leg to fix or find repair shops for plus the added advantage of actually KNOWING you probably won't get stuck out in the middle of nowhere when you have a failure....So, this is just food for thought, not planning on doing it (Well unless I win tonights Lotto!) Any ideas....

Anything can be done with enough money. But does it make economic sense to do so?

In the case of the engine swap you suggested, even if you have enough money and time my answer is "no", unless you are a devout masochist.

Sell the Jag and lease a luxury vehicle for 3 years or less. Don't worry, be happy! You won't ever have to worry about repairs again if your car is always under the original factory warranty. (That's also known as the BMW rule!)

Unless ...

Lumped vehicles also have difficulty passing emission tests, assuming they can even run.

Is there a specific issue that needs to be addressed for such a project?

There's only one thing wrong with these engines that we (and Jaguar engineers) haven't yet figured out how to prevent, so if maybe you are headed out west toward El Paso, upgrade your AAA to the Premium membership and throw a spare water pump kit in the trunk. But otherwise, you've got a fine engine and if you read these forums and follow the general consensus advice on preventative maintenance and repairs, you'll expend only a tiny fraction of the effort required for a modern engine swap over the expected useful life of the car.

If I were going to swap engines tho, I'd want to stuff an LS3 crate motor or 2JZ into some cool looking but way underpowered car from when I was a young man during the EPA doldrums rather than try to learn modern computer programming and canbus hacking at my age.
