Default Free Sirius Satellite?

I purchased a pre-owned private party 2016 XJL Portfolio at the end of July. I have been streaming Sirius since the purchase and it's still active. The prior owner stated that he was going to "discontinue the subscription..." Having said this, was there a deal on 2016 XJ's that came with Sirius as an added feature?

Thanks in advance for any answers...

It is notoriously difficult for anyone other than a car dealership to cancel a Sirius subscription; they transfer you from person to person and ultimately hang up on you. My guess is that the previous owner pre-paid a long-term subscription and has failed in his/her efforts to cancel it and obtain a refund. I'm telling you from personal experience, it is nearly impossible to do. About ten years ago I purchased a slightly used Cadillac Escalade from a private party and the XM radio played for five months before finally turning off... all because the previous owner had paid for a one-year subscription and could never get them to cancel it. Since then, Sirius and XM have become Sirius XM and their tactics have remained the same. Enjoy it until it goes away. At that point, you can purchase your own subscription if you so desire. If you are absolutely certain you will be keeping the vehicle for a long time, there are savings to be had by buying a long-term subscription. If, on the other hand, you want the flexibility to get out of it easily in the event you decide to sell your car, go with the monthly plan. It costs a little more but they WILL cancel it when you stop paying.

I had a 2007 dodge 3/4 ton pickup I bought used and the satellite radio worked for the entire time I owned the truck. About 3 years. No idea why or who was paying for it.

When I purchased my 2016 XJL it did come with 3 months free. Not 100% sure if that was a feature of it being a CPO or a feature of the dealership I purchased it at. The dealer setup the activation, and it did promptly expire 3 months later.

Yep, it's normally 3-Months free when you get it used. You can always get a good deal as they will offer you promotions for staying with them.
