Default Front Hub Replacement

My XJ is warping discs, after multiple sets I can only assume that the hub flange/face is no longer true on one or both sides

the faces are fairly well corroded, where the disc seats, which may be the problem.

the hub/bearing assembly seems like a simple DIY job to fix, but I’m not sure whether to trust the eBay specials that I’ve found

is there a part number available (I can’t find any on my ruined assemblies...) or are the eBay models actually ok? I’m really loathed to pay main dealer prices, so Britcar is the next port of call, but need a part number to get through their slightly unfathomable website...

any info is greatly appreciated, wobbly brakes are getting annoying!

Have you thought about the calipers ? A sticking piston or slide can cause the problem. The only real way to see whether it is the hub is to mount the new discs on and then use a dial gauge to test for runout.

Callipers were my first thought - when I started having problems I went to my trusted garage and they used some gubbins to test the drag of the wheel, to see if the brakes were releasing slowly - but they’re absolutely spot on, no dragging at all

which is annoying, as I feel that would have been an easier (cheaper) fix
