Default Front ride height too low with new struts

Probably a simple answer, but I had a front spring snap on my 2013 XJL, so I bought a new set of front struts off Amazon.

Amazon Amazon

But the front of the car is now far too low.

Is it a simple case of, the aftermarket ones are nafff or did we miss something when we installed them.

Any pointers gratefully accepted.

Where the original struts leaking or damaged?

Did you measure the aftermarket strut assemblies prior to installing them to see if the dimensions were the same as the original strut/spring assemblies?

Ride height is usually the function of the springs, so either way I needed new springs

I actually got the struts for CAD$330 so not to upset, as I can change them again later.

You’ll need SDD or another diagnostic tool to recalibrate the ride height. This process involves measuring the from the wheel center cap to the wheel arch on all four wheels. I believe that they’re are some threads on this and some YT videos. It’s not difficult too do to if you have SDD.

SDD has value inputs for all four wheels. On the front wheels, the gap spacing between the tire and fender do actually change!
