Default Has anyone installed the 200 cell cats on their XJ?

I bought the pulley and cats for my XJ SC. I planned on installing the cats this past weekend. When I got the car up on the lift and removed the underneath panel to get to the cats I realized that the 200 cell cats don't have a threaded hole like the original cats. The other side is difficult to get to, but it seems to have a nut on the converter side of the pipe.

I was just wondering the best way to tackle this....After I got it up and looked at it...I thought I will just take it to a shop. I did that Monday and they got it up and looked at it, then said they were scared to touch it and suggested I take it to an import place that specializes in luxury imports. Nothing is easy I guess. I have done full exhaust systems on my Vette and my Powerstroke...this is the first one that I am kind of stumped. I guess I was just expecting run of the mill clamps.

I installed Paramount bolt in 200 cel cats in my 2005 XJR with only minor issues.

The bolts/studs on your flange look different to mine.

I took it to an import place and they looked on the their system to see what it called for regarding labor time for replacing the cats. It was odd...it said 1.5 hours for the right side and 3.5 hours on the left side. 5 hours seems like way too much time. I was thinking 1-1.5 hours for the total job.

That sounds rather odd however your car is a different model to mine so I do not know what is really involved.

On mine once I realized that I had to disconnect both sides at the same time, in order to maneuver the cats, everything went quite smoothly.

I have the 200 cell cats on my 2011 XJ NA 5.0 and it only took two hours for install. It was suppose to be fairly straightforward and everything should be pretty smooth to install. Just make sure/have someone make sure that everything is sealed up as tight as it can be or you'll get a bit of exhaust leak.

The sport cats sound incredible above 3,000rpm. A HUGE and noticeable difference. Hope to pair them up with a tune and exhaust this summer.
