Default Hazard Switch stays lit????????

Help please my hazard switch is staying lit for a very long time after the car is shut off. Can anyone give me some insight on this? My car is a 2011 XJ Base. Thanks.

Blake04VDP, looking at the diagrams, it would appear that your hazzard switch is bad. It has its own little "module" attached to the switch. It appears to be overly complicated for what I would expect as they have the CAN bus running through the switch. I would start there and then see what you have then. If it isn't that, then you are looking at a problem in the fuse box which will require replacing the whole fuse box.

What is your definition of long time? They do stay on until vehicle goes to sleep which can take awhile.

Over 15 minutes. And it is lit at all times with or without the lights on while the car is running. Not sure that is normal either. Thanks for any info.

Try disconnecting one of the battery terminals. Give it 30s and reconnect. That will reboot various modules and may cure it. It sometimes means a module isn't shutting down into sleep mode properly
