Help with 11 xj audio
Yesterday I picked up a used 11 Jaguar XJ and today I am sorting through the various controls. I am having two problems understanding the audio system. I have the basic system, not the B&W
1. On the CD control screen, my manual shows a Upload button presumably allowing me to store up to ten disk contents. But my screen does not show the upload button.
2. In attempting to connect my Ipod to the system, the Ipod screen is telling me it is connected while the car is asking me to connect.
Any help would be appreciated...and stay tuned, I am sure there will be more questions! The electronics are far more advanced than on my 05 XJR

As for your iPod, make sure you're using an "approved" version - older versions and Shuffle are iffy, and won't connect.
Thank you for your very helpful response. I did finally figure out how to access the download button and it looks like my first generation I Pod will have to be replaced to make the appropriate connection.
Thanks so much for responding!

Does not show the upload button, or just greyed-out? The upload function should become available if you've loaded a CD into the physical player. The ripping process takes a while, but the quality of uncompressed audio is worth it - automatically downloads CD info from Gracenote is a nice feature as well.

My Gen 1 iPod Touch connects just fine, and now lives in the car. A nice new purpose for a retired device. Since you don't need to worry about whether the battery or screen have had it, I would suggest buying an old one off your internet-small-ads broker of choice.
