Hey what's up guys need some more assistance. Trying to find the part number for the cabin air filter cover that goes on under the hood as mine is missing and the car is flooding with water since it has been raining for days here now. I tried googling it buy I can not find anything on it.

The cabin air filter is inside, in the passenger footwell. It sounds like you are describing the cowl, at the base of the windshield under the wipers? That should be part C2D16064. It's $300 new, but they appear readily available on eBay.

that’s not what I’m speaking about. I’m talking about the opening under the hood.

That's a tough one! They come in LH and RH versions.

I "think" you need C2D5394 for the LHD cars. Looks like it's been superseded by C2Z31206 and possibly C2Z8000. Problem is the Jaguar dealer web sites say this does not fit the XJ but the XF. However I found the part number in JPART under the XJ section. Called "Air Intake Dash Panel Upper".

About $115-$130 from Jaguar but these don't wear out so I would start checking EBay for a used part. Should be MUCH cheaper too.

If you do figure out the part number post back with the information if possible.

My 2014 has nothing which specifically covers that hole. It is boxed in by the cowl at the bottom of the windshield, box piece which goes around the abs pump and brake pipes, and a flat cover over the engine fuse box . If I remove the the flat cover I can see the cabin air filter.
You can see the flat piece on the upper left. you can enlarge the pic to show what I mean,
You can see the flat piece on the upper left.
Spoiler

My car is a supercharged model---that's what the silver thing on top is. I cannot send a better pic because I am 2500miles away from my car. The picture you show in post #4 is missing the bottom windshield cowl.(the big black piece running the width of the windshield in my pic )

I wonder if that would fall under a fuse box cover if I look under a parts diagram

Yea I was not sure of that part number either.
But I have found a used one for around $35!
Take a look as I think this is the right part but he has no part number. The number in the ad is what's printed on the plastic itself.
Firewall Cover Over Cabin Filter

If you do find the right part number that would be a great help!

If you can see the cabin filter with the top of that fuse box removed I think your car is missing this part.

this looks maybe right. I don’t see anything like this on my car. I just put an offer on it to order. $35 isn’t much to gamble with.

I thought for the price it might be worth a gamble. One question remains? How did that cover go missing? The only reason I even know about this part is when I had the fuel injector melt down on my car I removed the wipers and all the cowling under them and ran into that part. It definitely takes some force to remove and I had to bend the plastic a bit to get it out and back in. No damage as it is flexible.

I am not sure if this cover would stop the rain water from coming in. There is a drain hole in these panels. On one of my older cars (1998) the drain hole was blocked up with tree debris. This caused the water to over flow the cover, under the wipers, and flood the passenger footwell. If yours is a similar situation, you may want to take a quick gander at where your covers drain-hole is located and ensure it is open to the elements, thereby allowing the water to drain....

I got all the pieces I need but I’ll check all the drains. It’s starting to look like it might be sun roof drain
