AIR Filter ?!
I am sort of embarrassed even to ask this, only curiosity made my post this.
This is my first Jaguar, and I do enjoy it so far. Usually I am good with wrenches: maintained my BMW without going to dealer, except for clutch replacement.
Any way was getting acquainted with Jaguar and noted that latches on air filter box are not fully seated. To make long story short: open filter box and to my dismay I felt that I may not be able to close it back without breaking something!
I check the filter it seemed to be the correct part number STP SA9513. Though the rubber seal fit in box did not seem right: just a tad too long.
To fit a hinge portion of air filter cover on engine side, that took some doing, no kidding. Even after that to get latches fitted to some persuasion.
Is there a trick how to engage hinge on air filter cover? It seems impossible to pivot cover far enough, with all the air channels there to engage the hinge.
What did I do wrong?
Grateful for any comments.
