Mystified from the other side of the Atlantic!

Everyone in the US on this thread is quoting insurance for 6 months. Do you all renew every six months or is that just the way it's calculated?

yes, auto insurance is renewed at 6 month intervals here but all other insurance is typically renewed annually. I never understood why though.

Thanks for the explanation. That's one trend I hope we don't follow over here as it's a p.i.t.a. getting comparative quotes annually.

The premium for my 2003 XJ8 is $615 for 6 mos., which is $71 less than my 2007 Honda Accord for the same coverage (100/300 $500 deductible).
