Default Got my first speeding ticket in my new XJL

Got my first speeding ticket in my new XJL last week. I have a sense that this will be a regular occurrence since this car refuses to go slow!

Does anyone have a radar detector to recommend? I've read about the kind that have a laser to jam radar and that seemed appealing.

I'm thinking i'd have it installed so that i dont have anything on the dash or wires dangling around.

Thanks!

Escort 9500xi. Have it hard wired with the mute button by my knee and mounted on the glass to the left of the mirror. It works amazingly and can catch a radar gun from MILES away. PLUS. It marks the location if it's a false alarm via GPS so you don't have to worry about it going off again and can focus on actual alarms.

Plus, if it's hard wired, in a month or two, you'll be able to install a bluetooth adapter that syncs with your radar and your phone and live updates you of police cruiser locations. It's awesome.

Everyone swears Valentine/Valentine/Valentine... but they are crap compared to the high end, built in Escorts.

Escort Solo 2. Battery operated so no cords--suction cup mounted to windshield just above dash. Uses 2 AA batteries that I replace every few months.

No easy way to have a plugin and didn't want to hard wire so I agree as usual with HouTex.

The Escort Solo II is great and also allows me to take it if I travel and rent a car.

I had the Solo II but it doesn't work well against laser. I am not aware of any that really works well against lasers since there is virtually no dispersement of the beam; so, by virtue of detecting the signal it means you have just been tagged. In my area, laser is pretty much all they use now.

Hey,
What part of Chicago are you from, I'm from Barrington.
Also the Solo 2 by escort or the escort red-line.

I think a lot of LE's are moving towards Lasers and mounted escort may not work.

If you are really serious, you should get something like laser interceptor. It would require installation of dual or quad led diodes on the hood grill and under the front bumpers. I believe this setup would jam the laser gun first time and then switches off while alerting you to brake asap. But you still another one for radar alerts.

Gents,
doing some research and need some info. Looking between the 9500ci and the RL360. Really like the custom installation options of the 9500ci (installed in rearview mirror). But getting info that the blind spot monitor causing issues with portions of the 9500ci degector system. Aslo learning that the backup sensors cuase issues also.
Does anyone have either if these systems and are you experiencing any of these issues or workarounds?
Local dealers only seem to offer the RL360.
Thanks,
