Default Jaguar XF and XJ are geting All-Wheel Drive

After bragging about it’s new C-X16 Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show, along with its facelifted version of the XF and XK, Jaguar has decided to come up with another reason to be gossiped: the two models XF and XJ, will get the all-wheel drive technology.

I like the idea of it but part of the appeal of the Jag is it's price to value ratio. If the all wheel drive bumps that up by 20-30% Audi still wins.

I would have gotten an all-wheel drive if they had it. I am sure it still would have been cheaper than an Audi. They kill you with the options. The B&O advance stereo system is 6500 by itself.

I agree about the B&O. When I looked at the Audi I was not going to go for that option. The fact that its standard to have the B&W on the Jag was sweet. Crazy money for a car stereo is B&S in my opinion.

I think the AWD in the upcoming wagon version would be a sweet ride.

Wagon? For real?

Well the one thing the B&O has are the cool little popup tweeters. LOL

Well the system is 1400 watts has a bigger subwoofer and each speaker is individual sealed so you should have the resonance problem the B&W system has sometimes.

Call me old fashion, but I love the rear wheel drive. You have to do a little driving to get this cat to rock! We have other things to drive in the snow in Ohio. My 17 year old son was in the Jag Sat night. He said a "tuner" pull up to him at the light near our home. He said he turned the gauges red and smoked the young man and his lady. I acted like a dad with mom in ear shot. Then later I got the details. I wish I was with him. Has not happen to me yet.................

I dont drive my Jag-u-ar during the winter months of November thru April here in Germany. On these European side roads I think an all wheel drive system would make the car feel more planted and stable in the corners. As far as the "tuner" goes with the car in dynamic/sport mode and the DSC off the car can actually do 4.4 sec 0-60mph. Though it seems unseeingly to be dragging a 4 door luxo sedan. But for whatever reason people want to keep racing us. Lol.

Best launch formula for the XJ per Road & Track:

Put DSC in Trac mode (first depress of button on console)
Turn on Dynamic mode (love those red guages)
Put foot on brake and load engine to 1300 RPM
Steadily depress accelerator to floor while releasing brake

Too heavy on the accelerator will cause wheel spin since some of the traction control is turned off in Trac mode.

This car is such a sleeper!

Sounds like a recipe for fun! To that I would add selecting sport mode on the transmission.

As fast as this car is from 0-60, I have noticed it is really fast while accelerating from 50-70 or 70-90 its scary fast on the highway, triple digits arrive pretty quickly.

I can go from 130mph to 150mph in Sports mode in about 2 sec. This car can accelerate so fast its scary sometimes. I think it has to do with it having superchargers and not turbos which alleviates the turbo lag.

Yep, you're right--put in sport mode too. Left that off.

Well I think the amount of cars on the roads and lack of training is one of the issues. They could issue a special license that proved you had training that you had to renew every year and you had to show it to get on these toll roads. It was the insurance companies that pushed for 55 because of payouts. Or you could just come to Germany. Lol

I agree. We're also not courteous enough in this country for an Autobahn--there would always be some jerk in the left lane not willing to pull over. On the Autobahn you're a jerk if you don't pull over--just a different mentality.
