Default Jaguar XJ to Be Reinvented as Hybrid Luxury Saloon

The next generation XJ will be a luxury, hybrid saloon, ready to take on the world (particularly the Mercedes-Benz S-Class) in the spring of 2019.

Oh my, another Hybrid..
Hopefully still a v-8 version somewhere in the mix.
Picture looks interesting, not sure that 'Ian' would fully approve though

Gorgeous, obviously following in the BMW 6series 4 door coupe footsteps. Hopefully, we'll see a new XK/XKR model as a derivative.

An earlier thread on this subject was started on 6/26/2015 by johndalheimer: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uar-xj-145281/ . If you haven't already read it, it's good for some laughs and controversy regarding this artist's concept, which I prefer since it's clearly an evolution of the current X351 design.

As for the design in post #1, above, I agree with tberg that it's derived from a BMW. Jaguar has always been a trend setter, not a follower, and I doubt that they would ever design a car that closely resembles another manufacturer's product.

I hear the next XJ will go back to the 3-box design of yore, and the official word is the XK will not come back.
