We've updated our reliability stats for the XJ to include owner experiences through September 30, 2014.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2005 XJ: 158, high, very small sample size
2004 XJ: 102, moderate, very small sample size

Additional participants would certainly be helpful, to improve the precision of these stats and cover additional model years.

To view the repairs behind these numbers, check the stats for other cars, and sign up to help improve this information (next update in February):

All very nice, but the sample cars are the X350 series, and this forum is for the later X351, a different car.

However I will concede the main elements of the car remain the same, but the X351 only has rear air springs, the fronts are steel coils.

The X350 doesn't have the same engine(s) as X351.

Sorry, I'd forgotten that this forum was only for the current generation XJ. No stats yet for these, as much as I wish we had them. Need more owners signed up first.

Oddly, we've had a much stronger response from F-Type owners, and the 2015 of that car is in the survey.

To help get the X351 included:

The 2011 is now about two-thirds of the way.

Yet somehow we have had enough participants for the F-Type.
