I'v had my XJL for almost a month now and it has been driving like a dream. As with most cars, small things start to happen after a while.

There have been a couple of occasions when the car could not sense the presence of the key so it won't unlike the doors or start the car for a while. Each time the problem went away after about a minute or so. Not sure what the problems is. I know cell phones can be an issue with these keys so I tried to keep them apart as much as I can. In the manual, it does mention that if the car is not sensing the key, I should put it again a spot near the trunk release; but that didn't help either.

I've switched to another key just to see whether it is problem with the key itself.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

 

Maybe the key's battery is dead.
