Shattered headlight cover

Someone was "kind" enough to shatter the plexiglass cover of the passenger side headlight assembly on my XJ. Fortunately, all of the lights are working properly.

It appears that there are merely a few tabs holding this piece of plastic in place. Jaguar NA of course will only sell me an entirely new headlight assembly for $3000 (ugh). Does anyone know where I might be able to acquire a replacement plexiglass cover? Does anyone know if there's a reason why I couldn't just replace that cover and leave the rest of the assembly alone?

no one Ive ever seen sell the lense. you could buy a used one. and theyre urethaned in place. Not just tabs that hold them together, but its not hard to seperate if you know how

Have a look at these listings,a bit of luck that they appear to be for the US cars as well !!!

Maybe contact them to see shipping costs to you, I dont know if you have the adaptive cornering lights but you could ask them about that as well, even if your dealer charges an hour to fit plus any shipping I reckon you could save over $2000, best of luck.

You could ask him to do a deal on the pair and probably sell the other one and cover your costs for both, as they are way under priced here due to being for the American market.
