Modernizing Older Jaguars Stock Headunit s,to Android infotainment system

 

Hey... been watching a few of your videos but having trouble finding an answer. I just installed an Android unit in my 2016 XJL, but can't figure out where to connect the "Key 1 and Key 2" wires .. for my steering wheel controls.

 

What radio do you have,and year and model vehicle

 

Vehicle is 2016 XJL Harman system. Generic Android unit from Aliexpress. Had to run a wire from the trunk to the unit.

 

I'd also be interested in learning more what is possible for a 2013 XJL.

 

I installed mine WAY back in 2018. Be aware there are problems with most of these installs that are not talked about!
Mainly the cooling system on the stock IP and navigation stack that almost none of the after market units take into account.

Unless your installing the stock boards into the after market Android unit like I did you have zero cooling.

I have had great luck with mine and the newer ones will boot faster and hopefully have a better screen too.
Just read as much as possible BEFORE buying anything! There is a language barrier as all this is made in China and service is thin at best! BUT I have always gotten a response even though sometimes I can't understand what they are saying!

checking here in 2024 has there been a plug and play 10" screen released that's a simple swap out without all the pain of programming and whatnot from the longass threads from years ago?
