Hello all!

I'm currently driving a XJL 5.0 Portfolio and the exhaust note is rather lovely!

I would like a more aggresive exhaust note but not excessively loud given that it's a luxury car. I've previously heard of people cutting open the exhaust box, right before the tips, and removing the filling/wool inside for a more aggresive note.

Has anyone done this yet? If anyone has done it, some feedback would be much appreciated.

If not, would it be a good idea? I don't mind being the guinea pig and recording audio clips for others contemplating this.

Are there any nice aftermarket exhausts?

Be careful with exhaust mods to a luxury car. As with a number of V8 powered cars the Jag also shows a tendency towards droning with non factory exhausts.

And, don't forget about the possibility of having your warranty void due to a "modification to original parts", if something goes wrong.

Unfortunately I bought my car from a parallel importer and not from Jaguar. Being a 2011 car, I don't think there's any warranty anymore.

I think I may get someone to open up the exhaust box and remove some material. Make it less dense and more free flowing to see if the sound is more aggressive. Will post results once I find out with sound clips!
