At the start of August, I had an independent shop replace the water pump on my 2014 XJ Supercharged at 53626 miles with a new AJ813909 water pump due to a leak. The repair shop thought that there was another leak at the auxillary radiator on front of the right front tire. In another thread on this forum I had posted about this and the fact that I had dropped the under tray while looking for the leak. I had added about a half gallon of premixed orange coolant a few days after bringing the car home. I thought the cooling system had not been properly bled. I went a few weeks without any coolant loss and the car is leaking again. I took the under tray off again and added about a half gallon of coolant. I could see coolant dripping from the front of the engine oil pan running down the timing chain cover.. I looked at the area with a mirror and with a video borescope, but could not get a good look due to the serpentine belts. I have removed the air filters and ducting and removed the belts. That gives access to the water pump mount screws. I still can't see source. I want to put a radiator pressure tester on the coolant system to see if it will make the leak easier to see.
Attached are photos of the front of the engine with air filters removed,. I have attached a photo of the coolant tank cap. It is a Ford cap manufactured in India with 200 KPA. I attached a photo of the gauge for the US General Radiator Test Kit reading in PSI and in Bars. So, my question is how do I convert the 200 KPA to Bars?
I attached photos of the water pump from before I brought it and the new hoses that shows mount screws. If there is a bearing weep hole, it must be behind the pulley
I have driven about 2,000 miles since the water pump was changed.
Dear sirs good afternoon please, noticed the Coolant's leak you got iss not from the water pump but yes from the coolant coming out from under the manifold. That's what happens to my car. Thanks. Ry
This is indicative of the crossover pipe leak. When they first start leaking, you will only notice leak when hot. It will hold pressure when cold. Try checking the crossover pipe over the supercharger. If its a old school press-molded plastic, I'd bet money on that leaking especially if you see it in the engine valley.
