Coolant leak or overflow?
In Toronto area after drive from Calgary. Noticed coolant (small amount) on ground between radiator and front of engine. Is it overflow or water pump? Coolant level OK. Went for a drive to operating temperature no sign of coolant this morning. Will have to get car on hoist to check further. Any ideas?

Unlikely to be overflow unless the system was recently over-filled.
Small coolant leaks can be difficult to find. A leaky water pump is a possibility, yes, but also check for loose hose clamps and pinhole leaks in hoses....which don't always manifest themselves consistantly.
Sometimes coolant stains are your best (or only) clue as to the source of the leak.
Cheers

Update on coolant leak and trip
So, found an excellent independant shop in Toronto Cat's Cradle Jaguar service. Had coolant leak checked and oil/filter/lube service $155.00. Also some good advice from Mike & Dan on XJ 12 series III "Quirks". Presently in Quebec City with a badly chipped original windshield (They do not cover their gravel loads in Quebec). Next week enroute to Florida, any routes to avoid along most direct Google searh?
