Default muffler/exhasut

hello, I would like to change my mufflers on my Jaguar XJR, I was wondering if it throw any codes and if it didn't, would they car become not as fast because the airflow of the exhaust. if not. Any good muffle ideas? not looking to spend 1000$ on a exhaust, and if I were to do mufflers do I need a tune?
Thank you

Why? What are you looking to accomplish? Sound? Power increase?

P.S. I saw your other post about replacing your damaged catalytic converters. Is the rest of the exhaust system downstream of the cats is still OK? If so, keep it. Or you can spend $975 for this exhaust from Mina Gallery:

jacobxjr, what you are asking for is very subjective. There are many types of mufflers, each doing something a bit different and having different pros and cons. Just doing mufflers most likely will not throw a code as the catalytic converters and dual resonators are going to keep sufficient back pressure for the car to be happy. You start changing the cats or deleting a resonator, the odds of throwing a code go up. As for a tune, I would say that it would not be needed as you are not going to see that much of a change. The computer is going to compensate for the exhaust. Now, if you were to upgrade the cats, remove a resonator, and go to a high flowing cat, then a tune would almost be necessary to not have a code issue.

Let us know what you are trying to accomplish and we should be able to give you a bit more help. Right now, what you are asking is equivalent to "what color looks best on a Jag?". Everyone has an opinion.

My cats are fine, now I’m looking to get a more rumble and some pops and cracks in the exhaust note. What I was trying to ask was is their any mufflers you guys may know about and if so let me know. Any recommendations you may know about?

Well it won't add much if any performance. I would recommend a VAP tune and lower pulley.
It really transforms the car. They run sales about twice a year and you get a LOT for the money!

So, I kept everything stock until I got to the mufflers. I swapped out the two back mufflers for two magna flow resonators. I did the specifically for the back pressure and the sound. And then to finish the look I put two Akrapovic exhaust tips on the back. My car sounds like a goddamn beast. Also because I didn’t touch the stock resonators in the front I don’t have that terrible drone that some people complain about.

Sounds awesome! I know from your Public Profile that it's a 2015 5.0L, but is it supercharged or normally aspirated? Any engine mods?

Supercharged but you know how that goes, it won’t kick in till 3 1/2 anyway. No engine months. Just keeping it black on black on black.
